Sound Designer

Walking Down Broadway was concieved by the director to be a show where the audience would step into the theatre and be "transported" back to the 1930's. Having lived in New York in the 30's , he was an excellent resource for shaping the how the show would sound. I work closely with the director in deciding which elements were the most evocative of the 1930's. Donald proposed that the production have a sort of theme song, and he felt that the song "Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries" was the heart of the show. Music was integrated into the rehearsal process early on and allowed the cast to really get a feel for the world they would be living in. One of the greatest moments of the production was seeing the older patrons reminicing and being taken back to their youth by the music they heared.
